BOSH! B747F Extreme Landing

Here at Aviation Business News, we love the 747 ‘Queen of the skies’ .. who doesn’t?? A powerhouse aircraft, built in the golden days at Boeing, loved by many aviation fans, passengers and operators alike. The 747 was produced not only for passenger use, but also making use of it’s longer range capabilities by flying commercial freight to all parts of the globe. Within the air cargo sector, cargo pilots are commonly referred to as ‘Freight Dogs’ due to their gruelling flying schedules, high-end flying skills enabling them to fly into tricky aerodromes, and, of course, due to their tendencies to ‘slam it down’ on the runway during landings. In this instance, we see a Silkway B747-400F ‘slamming it down’ during landing at Amsterdam Schiphol, a classic passenger and freighter hub airport suspectable to high-winds. Take a look at those flaps shuddering, and imagine the force those undercarriage struts took with that rate of descent. Pretty cool, right?!
